I’m not sure how today’s comic led to this conversation. Phoebe didn’t mean “they” in that that way; she meant the plural they. “You know what they say” is an old expression that suggests that a statement is a commonly held belief. Although in this case I think she is just making stuff up.
I felt nostalgic so I clicked the back button to see their meeting again. For some reason the very first strip is listed third on GoComics with the color remake listed just before it, but the first strip listed seems to be completely random and is dated Jan 2012 when the strip didn’t debut until April. Not sure what is going on there.
Unfortunately Disney cancelled the Owl House because it was getting a little too gay for their comfort (or as they claimed "It didn’t fit with the Disney brand).
