As a German I am a bit surprised to read this. In an interview with Elon Musk the leader of our far right party „Alternative for Germany“ painted Hitler as a leftist. But it is a consensus among historians that he was not. I think Google and Wikipedia are your friend.
Just two things: First, socialism was in the name in order to win worker votes. They catered to other groups of voters, too. And the Party never wanted to collectivize the industry.
Second, the whole point of the party was to ensure to the „survival of the German race“ by extending our territorial borders. So it was never „international“ like socialists normally are.
I want to add a caveat: The side winning the war has discretion to retoactively qualify actions as war crimes. A case in point is the Nuremberg Charter: The killing of the people in Lidice (now: Czech Republic) in 1942 was legal under German law; though the action was considered a war crime in Nuremberg 1946.
Hitler failed to be elected president of Germany then – he was considered too extreme(1932: 30 %). Even the NSDAP (Nazi-Party) never gained more than 44 % of the national popular vote.
Apple’s credibility would also be destroyed if they relented. Plus building a masterkey – which would be the result as Apple claims – could violate EU Data Protection laws that can (beginning 2018) result in fines of up to 2 % of the worldwide sales.
