    Yep.

It’s kind of like how we still show “old people” as listening to Lawrence Welk, instead of, say, Van Halen … it’s just a tradition by now.

She hates castor oil. Aunt Fritzi sent her to get some. She was hoping the bad boys would break it with their snowballs.

So in other words, no advantages at all. He checks none of the boxes being looked for.

If he gets hired somewhere, or admitted to some school, you’ll know it’s because he actually qualifies to be there.

Tolkien actually did write The Hobbit as a kids book. Since he was Tolkien though, it came out as richly satisfying and as well written as any adult book :)

I use that same trick when Laura Ingalls Wilder starts talking about the details of the dresses she wore :)

Seriously though, The Hobbit is a pretty easy read, having been written with children in mind. The LOTR trilogy, less easy.

The key is to slow down and savor it, I think. Do a chapter a day, perhaps. It also helps if you are good at making up mental melodies to go with the songs :)

I dunno, the college would have to notice/realize it – in the Navy we would put locks on empty lockers, and bedding on empty beds … that often got us months of private barracks rooms, lol!
