   It’s rare but not as rare as you’d think, for people to be born with 12 fingers and/or toes. A friend of a friend had that, along with many members of his family- it seems to be passed on. The extra digits are often not fully formed and especially with the fingers will often be removed when very young, so it’s possible to know someone that was born with the extra digits and not know it.
