You know, we all like different things. And I was raised to believe that is okay. If the item is objectionable to someone, the preparation is immaterial. I think a lot of people pretend to enjoy fine and expensive red wine when it tastes like swill.
This is the thing in North Dakota: the weather makes travel dangerous most winter months. While an hour commute does not sound bad, considering that we can have blizzards that can pile 2 feet of snow on the road and temperatures as low as -39 (not counting the windchill), a 1 hour commute without any public transportation option can be a dangerous affair. I understand Bay Area also has its traffic issues, but you probably won’t encounter blizzards, hail, tornadoes, freezing rain, sleet, ice on the road, industrial traffic, and large animals as hazards on the commute. North Dakota is a beautiful place, but travel, especially in winter months, presents unique problems.
It’s more about an approach to daily living than it is to actually how to speak, but that’s included too. Maybe familiar to some on here is the Minnesota goodbye, which starts off by the person wanting to leave looking at their watch and saying “it’s getting late.” That is the pre-launch sequence to actually leaving.
