From what I have read, Mr. Conley has lost his zeal for creating a daily “Get Fuzzy,” and all of his weekly installments have been reruns, since 2013. He only does new cartoons on Sunday. Consequently, his cartoon has been dropped from the “Washington Post,” and the “Seattle Times.” He has never really come out and said why he has chosen to work in this manner. Perhaps a Sunday only format would be better. I expect it is not that simple, however, and very likely involves contracts and money. I hope it is not his health that is causing this predicament.
The problem this week is that the reruns are very confusing, if you have never read “Get Fuzzy,” before, given the political climate at the moment, with Clinton and Trump, and do not know that these installments are classics. The copyright says, 2008, but can easily be missed, given the size of the printing, and I would venture to say, that most people, including myself, pay little attention to the copyright date on a cartoon and are only looking for a little comic relief in our daily lives.
All in all, it is 6 cartoons that don’t make much sense, and next week, all the attention, will likely be on another subject, with the GF gang,so I guess we just have to go with the flow and either read the strip as a classic, or just ignore it. I hope Mr. Conley can get back to his daily routine, but if not, it will always be one of my classic favorites and I look forward to each new Sunday release, as well, and hope that he will continue to provide that for many years to come.
Do not get your cats declawed! It is barbaric and cruel. And, yes, having them sitting on your lap, can lead to claw marks and injuries, if they are startled, or, even if they are just kneading you before they lay on your lap. They move by instinct. They don’t think about whether their claws are going to lead to an injury or leave a mark, when they need to move away from a situation quickly. Trim their claws every few weeks, just like you clip your finger nails and there will be a lot less damage incurred, if you happen to be in a situation like the guy in the chair was in today, in the comic strip. It happens!! Thanks. Pass it on.
Kyle of Lochalsh. He must be somewhere like Superman’s Bizzaro World…
