I was in a conversation about Christmas presents. Teen boys just want gaming “cash” to spend on their gaming systems. The father was pointing out to me that when he was a young teen he was outside nearly all day long with a stop in at the house for lunch.
But I can’t fault them. As today’s teens are growing up, they see adults on screens all the time as well — either binge watching something or internet time on phone, tablet, or desktop computer.
We already have a partial single payor option called Medicare. But to your point, the healthcare/insurance issue is two-fold 1) doctor says what is needed, but patient doesn’t see the bill (until recently), the insurance pays. So no incentive to keep costs down and 2) malpractice lawsuits and their large payouts result in doctors being very conservative and ordering more tests/procedures to avoid lawsuits (and their insurance is really high as well).
It’s easy to feel that why when sitting in front of the tele or reading social media. But since news, rumour and opinion is biased toward the negative, best to take it in small doses and then turn it off to get the majority perspective. Google “good news network” to find a site that provides that other perspective.
