OP is talking about normalizing violence, and as kids watching Tom and Jerry etc. I think we were to a degree being trained to treat bombs and violence as “normal” or even “fun”. For me it was during the Vietnam War, so with my tinfoil hat on, I might say it was part of a deliberate plot. (Not really)
Two weeks ago the local committee put a speed bump right in front of my house. Now, instead of hearing the no-muffler motorcycles screaming past, I hear the trucks accelerating from almost 0km/h after they get over the bump. Plus the odd screech of tires when somebody doesn’t see the speedbump until they’re about to hit it. (The yellow paint has mostly worn off after 10 days). And the motorcycles are just as loud as ever.
Not any more, a lot of the country has full on conspiracy fever sickness and the right wing pollies are milking it for all they’re worth. Send the tech bros there and put the place in quarantine.
