In Canada, the government is highly dependent on personal income taxes for its revenue stream because Canada doesn’t have the same level of business activity that other countries (ie US) has. So the top 1% paid 22.5%, the top 5% paid 42% and the top 10% paid 55%. Seems pretty progressive to me…
