My mom had a cat who loved watermelon. I have one who tries to eat anything sweet that we have. She tries to “bury” any meat we offer, but will snatch a marshmallow cereal treat from you if you aren’t watching.

Animaniacs was great! As were the older Looney Tunes. They don’t make much good stuff like that anymore.

I was like you and rarely ate cranberry sauce until I tried this recipe!

I never noticed any recipes on the cranberry bags, but I purchase them in little mesh bags from a local cranberry grower. I just boil them in a bit of sugar water til they pop, reduce the water a bit more, then stir in a good quality marmalade and simmer until thickened to the consistency I like. I always have to make double or triple due to the amount of people in the house who show up with spoons ready for “taste testing.”

I always enjoy the chewy bits in the sauce! I could see the appeal of a smooth sauce for some though.

That’s a bummer on the cranberry sauce! Sometimes the off brands are just as good as the name brands, but sometimes it really makes a difference!

We didn’t do a “traditional” turkey dinner this year. None of us particularly cares for turkey, and we have no family nearby. The only tradition menu item everyone wanted was the homemade cranberry sauce… so we made lasagna with wilted spinach and garlic on the side with vanilla ice cream topped with cranberry sauce for dessert. The lasagna didn’t last very long with 5 of us in the house, and we made 3 9×13 pans of it!
