When I got a call from “Medicare” I started ranting “Where is my check for $27,418?” Repeatedly demanding to know when the check will arrive. When I got a call from “Amazon” about a returned MacBook, I hijacked the conversation demanding to know why they haven’t refunded me for the 65" television that I returned. This is fun.

Exactly, the vision of the internet he obtained government funding for had a centerpiece of: Digitizing the Library of Congress so that everyone, rich ( at home ) or poor ( at a public library or school ) would have access to all that knowledge, so that everyone would have the resources to “make something of themselves”. Oh, and security wouldn’t be an issue because most of the traffic would be one-way from a read-only library of congress to the individual trying to better themselves. Any peer-to-peer traffic would mostly be academics collaborating on projects, even from distant physical locations. His reward for pushing a bill for funding the start of the internet was ridicule for claiming he was responsible for the creation of the internet. ( no other senators nor congressmen tried to get the program started ). So he lost the 2000 election. Much to his surprise, once businesses saw the efficiency of a packet switched network, they started building the infrastructure of the world on the internet, ignorant of the fact it was built on foundation of no security. When the internet crashes, people are going to demand to know: “who is responsible for the collapse of western civilization?” When the answer obtained, the survivors will look for Al Gore with pitchforks and torches.

Maybe Siri is just having fun with random names. This is a humor column is named: Non-Sequitur: “it does not follow.”

Off topic, but lesannc reminded me of Bart Simpsons rapid response to being sternly addressed by an authority figure:I didn’t do it!Nobody saw me.You can’t prove a thing.

“air quotes” when your audience can see you, “stereotype karen”, or “quote karen” when audio only. ( I would leave off the word “unquote” because it makes uncomfortably long to say and I think most people would understand that the word “quote” would apply only to the next word in the sentence.

This has nothing to do with health, liberty or personal choices. Remember how Trump spent years obsessed with undoing nearly everything Obama did? Todays Republican leaders and influencers are nurturing a “base” that is fixated with intransigent contempt and hostility of anything that liberals support.
