With low cloud level and one failed engine on his Aero Commander my father was trapped in an Alpine valley. Turn left, turn right, if the guess is wrong it is an explosion and a lot of aircraft wreckage. Genius, my Papa, he looked to see which way the water was flowing in the valley stream. Following the water stream is safety and a strong whisky when he landed. The other way the valley closes down bit by bit and he can’t climb the aircraft or turn round.

It’s not so easy to bridge the pond. My offering: “Jellied eels to start, then liver & onions, cooked the way I like, and a nice baked potato”. As leftovers, cheese & onion pie is not what you’d expect to find at the Capp’s, some stale veal & ham pie perhaps.

I hope everyone understands the reference to “Inspector Clouseau”, Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther films 1963 -, Dr Strangelove 1964, The Party 1968. Although the humour has not travelled those 55 years all that well, Peter was an ace, among the best.

A big thank-you to the artist(s). The expression on Will’s face is beautifully done & perfect for the script.

What’s gone wrong with the graphics display today? Only the top half of the comic is being displayed.

‘hanged’ not ‘hung’. Pheasants & other shot game birds are hung until you can pluck the feathers easily & other benefits(?). People are hanged, drawn & quartered as so many were; such a terrible death.

@beviekOooh, Basset’s Liquorice All-Sorts !!! It seems they no longer exist. We have been searching high & low for them. My little red-headed Irish wife loves them and so much wants to find them again.
