   We had rain again Monday evening and may still see more before sunrise. I haven’t checked yet to see how much more we have gotten. They are predicting isolated storms for today, no rain predicted for Wednesday or Thursday (yet), then scattered storms on Thursday. Then it’s not until Tuesday of next week that they are predicting more scattered storms. Three days in a row without rain? Seems far-fetched to me. I imagine that by mid July and all through August we won’t get any rain at all. I wish we could save this rain for later when we might really need it.

   Actually, when I was in my garden yesterday, I saw a couple really wet spots in the garden where it looks like I might have briefly had standing water between my rows of corn. Since we got more rain after that, I wonder what I will find when I go back out there tomorrow?

   I live just a bit northwest of Madison, WI. Right now, the weather map shows storms staying north of us. I would say that they can have it, but I don’t think they need it either.

   For all of you suffering from the heat, I wish I could take some of it from you. No, I don’t want it to be over 100 degrees, but we seem to hover in the 70’s, so I could take 10 degrees from you. And those who need rain – darn it all – I wish I could share our rain with you. We can’t seem to string together more than 2 or 3 days in a row where it DOESN’T rain On Saturday, we got 7 inches of rain in my hometown. Two inches in the morning and another 5 inches in the evening, with tornado warnings and the whole bit. No tornadoes here, but some other towns did get hit. I won’t wish that on anyone, but I sure wish I could share some of this blasted rain. Driving to work yesterday, I saw some corn and soybean fields that had been turned into lakes.

   I wonder how Annie is able to make enough money to pay for vet care for the cats? Vets are very expensive!

   I had to Google it. I don’t follow golf. A Mulligan is a second chance to hit a shot without penalty. A golfer can replay the shot from the same spot as the previous stroke and the hole is scored as if the first shot never happened. For example, if a golfer hits their tee shot out of bounds on the first tee, they could take a mulligan and retee to hit again.

   I didn’t know that!
