In Sask. Canada we have highways that have “passing lanes” every few dozen miles. The strategy being instead of building a completely double lane highway these passing lanes set off a stretch of a few miles where the slower traffic keeps right and the faster traffic has a stretch of a few miles where they can safely pass the slower traffic.Big problem is too many stup!d drivers don’t know how they work. Slow traffic holds up everyone until they get to a passing lane. Then the passing lane SHOULD just keep right, keep their slow speed, and let everyone pass them as they travel through the passing lane stretch. Instead the $##@ slow traffic thinks they have to speed up in the passing lane only. No one gets by. And you guessed it, as soon as the passing lane ends they slow down again!!!
