The “Saying” refers to using it as an analogy for anything serving in a similar capacity to warn of danger, not always by design.

I know. I checked spelling to make sure. I’ve been hit more than once. They usually don’t like URLs either.

I make the stuff from a box, preferably the type without orange food colouring. I add peas, tuna, grated extra-old white cheddar; lots of fresh ground black pepper, and usually some dried basil. It needs a bit of extra milk with the additions. Making it totally from scratch is a bit tricky, to get the right consistency.

Mostly for Americans: Today, the United States, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands are the only countries that exclusively use Fahrenheit temperatures. Some other nations use both systems, including Belize, the British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda. In Canada my generation grew up with Fahrenheit, but have long sense become accustomed to Celsius. → Mind you, it is common to still see thermometers with the old system, or both. I’d never be able to insert the link here, but Google search on ‘Earthdate The Fahrenheit Few’: It’s an interesting summary of the history of both systems.

I read LOTR when I was in university in the 1970s. My son read it near the end of grade two at age 7½. That was when I decided: This Kid is Smarter than I am.
