In what universe do 20-year-olds (for the most part) use common sense anyhow. I am the parent of one who is almost 20, and no matter how much his father and I try to explain to him, he still thinks he knows everything and ends up doing what he wants…and a lot of times it ends up being something stupid…with the money he earns from his part time job, while taking classes at a community college. While a lot of the comic is unbelievable, a lot of it does fit with what I see in my kid. Then again, its fiction, so the writer has the freedom to do as he wishes with Luann.
