Well aren’t you sweet. Keyboard warrior for the win.
I won’t “get over it.” It’s a horrible match. Gunther is a nasty little creep and Luann deserves much better.
As someone upthread said, that ship has sunk.
Then again, the cartoonist has taken this strip in some crappy directions at times, so I guess I shouldn’t assume he wouldn’t give the giant eff you by marrying Luann off to this mama’s boy nasty little jerk.
I hope to heck this is not headed in the direction of making Gunther and Luann a couple. After many years of reading this strip, that would be the end for me.
Well that’s a bummer. I registered after being here for a long time just to comment on this.
I liked the pairing. But once Quill came to NYC his real GF was the theater, not Luann. She was a distinct second. I don’t blame her for being frustrated and I didn’t find her at all clingy. Any time they tried to even talk, the theater interfered. And Quill let it.
As for clearing the field for Gunther; the day they get together (if it happens) is the day I jettison this comic after years of reading it. I find Gunther to be nasty and unpleasant and he has been since he returned from Peru. He’s a man-baby – can’t even bear his mother having a BF and is unsuitable for Luann. He’d actually do well with Tiffany.
