I’ve had a lot of questions about the characters’ college experiences since they first started this new phase of their lives (like, now in the world did Bernice become an RA in her freshman year? I can’t imagine that happening anywhere, ever).

The most recent one is this: Do community colleges use teaching assistants? I mean, I have 7 college degrees, including two from a junior college (which is what we used to call community colleges back in the stone age) and I work at a small public university, and I’ve never come across a class with a teaching assistant. Some of the science faculty here have Lab Assistants, but they just manage material and set up and assist with labs—they aren’t responsible for any actual teaching. My impression is that TAs are used in large R1 universities where the freshman classes are huge and the faculty don’t have time for mere undergraduates, but a community college? Never heard of a TA there.

I mean, the junior college I went to was pretty large, but as far as the classes were concerned, it was like 13th and 14th grade. I don’t remember having a class of any kind that was larger than 25 or so students.

Is my sample size too limited?

As long as Ox is around, no one is going to bother Tiffany. He gets really protective when he sees someone take advantage of a weaker person. He hates bullies.

She can smile and sway all she wants, it’s not going to affect my tip. I always tip (even though I hate tipping, why not just pay the servers a real wage and charge the customers accordingly?), but I’m likely to tip more if the server is genuinely friendly (and fills my water glass without me asking). I also tend to tip more if the server is genuinely having a hard day. If he or she has a table full of demanding as$holes or things just aren’t going their way, I will try to make their day better with a nice tip.

But if they are at all fake flirty or shaking their butt at me, I’m only going to tip 10%. The bare minimum. Real is always better than fake.

I like what we’ve seen of Bets so far, she’s funny, she’d nerdy, she’s understanding, she’s cute. She is disgusted by Les. She could be just right for Gunther. Hopefully, Gunther will tell Luann to piss off and leave him alone for the rest of their date.

I hope we get to see some of TreKConnect. Maybe a guest appearance by George Takei. Oh myyyy.

The US still has pennies for the same reason we still have one dollar bills: politics. There are senators and congressmen who protect the penny and the dollar bill because either they (the dollar bill and the penny) are made in their districts or the raw materials to make them come from their districts.

The last we saw of L and G, G was hinting that there was one guy who was OK, namely himself, who responded to her profile, and she was giving him a coy look out of the corner of her eye. Considering that they were thiiis close to kissing at the end of the previous week, it could well be that they were facetiming when Les came in, and in a panic, G jumped up and slammed his door and tripped over something and fell into the wall or a piece of furniture.

I don’t know that she was ever daddy’s little princess. Tom never spent time with Tiff and used money as a substitute for real affection. Frankly, he failed as a father and Tiffany, herself, is the evidence.

I know we are supposed to love Tiff and hate Ann, but Ann has a point. Even if Tom could afford to pay for everything he shouldn’t. but this is one of the reasons why children of rich parents so often turn out to be utterly useless. Maybe, despite her evil intent, Ann is doing Tiff a solid here. Stripping away all the frippery in her life that daddy’s money provides and making her focus on what matters.

Where I live, you have to get a permit if you are changing the structure of the house. IIRC, they created Shannon’s room by moving a wall. Moving a wall changes the structure of the house. It’s likely that they will have to open up the walls so the inspector can get a look at framing and wiring.

My bet is that Shannon doesn’t know what puce looks like. She heard the word somewhere and likes the sound of it.

The best solution is to come up with a set of three or four colors that work well together and let Shannon pick two of them. One will be the main color and the other will be the accent color. That way, Shannon gets to pick her colors but it’s something that Aunt Toni can live with. Easy Peasy.

I’m sorry, but that plot would just suck. I know this is just a comic strip and Tiffany is a flawed character, but what we do not need here is another story about a girl who got in over her head and needs a guy to rescue her.

It would be a better story if they both turn out to be right—Gunter is right that Less is going to try something and expose himself as the rat everyone thinks he is, and Tiffany has to shut him down hard. Then Tiff and Gunther can make up, each admitting they were wrong about the other.

Of course, this could end with Less being hoist on his own petard. After talking really big to Gunther about getting some of Tiffany, when he is presented with the opportunity from a consenting Tiffany, it turns out Less is less of an operator than he acts like he is.
