Although the numbers are truly appalling, your righteous snark does the cause more harm than good.

Cardiovascular disease, which includes hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure and stroke accounts for nearly 500,000 deaths in U.S. women every year. More than half of these CVD-related deaths are due to coronary artery disease. In 2005, death rates for CVD in the U.S. were 237.1 per 100,000 for all women, 230.4 for white women and 319.7 for black women.

Some 47,000 women and girls worldwide were killed by their intimate partners or other family mem-bers in 2020. This means that, on average, a woman or girl is killed by someone in her own family every11 minutes.

First Differentname isn’t funny, nor insightful. Second, we do it to ourselves, unless we’re drafted (not anymore) or our bosses are trolls. Stopping there before I enter rant mode.

Normally I avoid the comment sections of comics, they’re generally toxic. Today I’m weak. Now mind you I’ve never watched a game of soccer. Therefore, I went to the Encyclopedia Britannica for this: " Linguistically creative students at the University of Oxford in the 1880s distinguished between the sports of “rugger” (rugby football) and “assoccer” (association football). The latter term was further shortened to “soccer” (sometimes spelled “socker”), and the name quickly spread beyond the campus. However, “soccer” never became much more than a nickname in Great Britain."

I disagree. That betrays a different arrogance. Insight and wisdom are valuable where you find them.

Oh, I certainly did not say that! I merely suggested our collective mental health is better served by ignoring most Internet comments.

::snicker:: 99.9 percent of the time, I ignore the comment section. That day I was weak.

99% percent of the comments here are useless. Ignore them, they add nothing of value to the world.

World Cup? Is it that time already?

Last time I checked, both were human. That seems the common denominator.

I’ve never understood the appeal of dancing, or of music for that mattter.
