It’s kind of like Halloween without the horror parts; you pick a character, dress up as them, and within reason you can even act like them if you want. This is mostly done at conventions and special events, but people have a lot of fun with it. Some of my favorite cosplays have been a Team Rocket grunt from the Pokemon games, Kiki from the anime film Kiki’s Delivery Service, and the lovable goth forensic scientist Abby from NCIS ^^
That’s practically my motto: “Normal doesn’t exist.” One of the first things I learned in my psychology class, and it’s stuck with me ever since. So yeah, this should be interesting! :)
It’s cool, I’ll explain. Loca (the girl) is a former bully of the strip’s main character AJ, but the two are now friends. Recently AJ has noticed that Loca is upset and “wants to be someone other than herself”, so he suggested cosplaying in an attempt to cheer her up. Right now she’s discussing it with one of AJ’s dads Alex, who has made some cool costumes for AJ in the past.
Welcome to the strip! I’d highly suggest reading all the previous strips so you can enjoy these characters :D
