My mother was way ahead of time. As a child (1951-1962) I was never allowed in the front seat. Not until I was a teen. Mom had seat belts installed in both front and back before they were required. To this day, I can’t put a car into drive without a seat belt on. It just goes against my nature. Even if I’m just driving to the end of the lane to get the mail. LOL
Memories. I met the man I eventually married when we were in college. We clicked but never dated because he had a girlfriend back home. After winter break, he asked me for a date. His girlfriend dumped him because she had found someone else. Worked great for me!
I had three classmates who were under the weight limit to donate blood. They could donate pediatric units, which were not as large as a regular unit. I wonder if they still do that?
Some Christian families will celebrate on Christmas Eve with one side and Christmas Day with the other. My family was half protestant and half catholic. So, I had candlelight service on Christmas Eve and Catholic Mass on Christmas Day. Exhausting!
Christmas Day was hectic when I was a child – unwrap presents, church, drive to the city for lunch with mother’s family, more presents, drive to the next city for dinner with my father’s family and more presents, then finally get back home around midnight. I didn’t enjoy Christmas until Dec. 26. Just relaxing at home with my family.
