In 2015, Jan decided to no longer do a daily comic because she wanted to devote more time to travel, socialize and focus on other creative projects. She continued with the Sunday strips. She retired in July 2020.

Boxing Day is an old British tradition when people would give their leftover food or old clothes and things to the poor or their servants. It was “boxed” to give. Servants often had their Christmas celebration the day after their masters did, since they spent all of Christmas Day serving the meals and cleaning up.
