At this time, when many people seem to have lost the ability to think and reason, such exercises are important. It also fosters discourse between orbsters. Other than that, well, it’s just a Hotel California, where “You can check out anytime you like , but you can never leave.”

Those are Rayovac batteries. The lightening bolt is their logo. I love how Georgia draws old fashioned and obscure items.

Sorry Denny, I replied to this yesterday but it didn’t post. Thank you for the lovely offer, but I am down right dangerous in the kitchen, lol. I’m also not a fan of traditional fruitcake. My mom’s was more a homage to fruitcake in that it had fruit, nuts, raisins, and a bit of rum. But it wasn’t dark, and it didn’t contain those jellied things.

Fractal, at seven years old, is still entranced by the tree. He loves to sleep under it. He also fluffs up the branches, by standing on his hind legs pawing at them, and knocks ornaments off. It’s an artificial tree, only 5’ high placed on two end tables in front of the window. Chris had the brilliant idea to use two ratchet tie downs that he runs through the tree stand and wraps a round the very sturdy end tables. Fractal can fluff, and redecorate to his hearts content, without toppling the tree.

I had an order for 15 luminaries that I made, going from NS to PE, had to be there before December 9th. I shipped them from a UPS store in Antigonish on Dec 3rd. 1 pound, 7”x7”x8”. Canada Post would have cost about $20. UPS $75!!! Customer was to pay the shipping. I charged her 1/2. I wasn’t going to spoil her joy. After she received them, she ordered another set for someone local that I can drop off. Ate some of the shipping but kept the customer. Certainly UPS is not cheaper, but I think they pay their employees a better wage and have better benefits. I agree it’s a sticky situation. Everyone deserves a fair wage. The Dragonfly guys break my heart. They are so polite, work so hard, but get paid very poorly , and as contractors have no benefits,

My mom made a blond fruitcake with maraschino cherries, hazelnuts, golden raisins, and a bit of rum. It was more of a pound cake, rather than the usual wet, sticky kind. Also not super sweet. It was perfect. Sadly all her recipes were lost, and I’ve never had another fruit cake like it.

That makes sense. With so many Irish, Scottish, and English settlers here, the Queens English pronunciations and terms are plentiful.

That’s good news. My Grandfathers Cat is a wonderful program.
