   Of course, that isn’t Ankle-Strapon mythology. It’s Brutish-Keltoc mythology. Along with the Elipsoid Table and the the Nights, Marlon, the Wiz, etc. Blowulf is Ankle-Strapon.

   He’s probably about as old as I am, and I remember movies were maybe 50 cents and popcorn was a dime. And we had 4 movie theaters in a town of around 15,000. Now we’re over 50,000 and there’s one multiplex. No competition. But the moguls owned the actors and everyone else, and we have DVDs and live streaming and Netflix, etc. so, once in a while it’s nice to get the experience even though I can’t afford to go once or twice a month.

   Yeah, like FICA, Soc. Sec., legalizing union organizing, the G.I. Bill, Medicare, Medicaid, the 40 hour week, unemployment insurance, the U.S. highway system, rural electrification, EPA, The Post Office, FDA, etc. Yeah, bureaucracies screw up, even get some corruption, but what do YOU really want to do without? Think “Free Enterprise” can handle it all? Think you could afford THAT?

   BS! That comes to $38,400/year: out of which must come FICA, taxes, food, medical care, shelter (rent). You’re not going to be able to own a home on that, unless you get a windfall if a close relative dies. (My wife and I were working poor when my grandmother passed and left us enough to assume an inexpensive mortgage on a small house.). And you have to figure in the area in which you work. Do you need a car to commute?

   From Wiki and Reddit: Chuck Jones, the creator of the Road Runner, has stated that this sound, the only way the Road Runner can harm the Coyote, was inspired by hearing a Doppler-like effect as background artist Paul Julian imitated a car horn when he could not see where he was going. Julian voiced the various recordings of the phrase used throughout the Road Runner cartoons, although on-screen he was uncredited for his work. Although commonly quoted as “meep meep”, Warner Bros., the current owner of all trademarks relating to the duo, lists “beep, beep” as the Road Runner’s sound, along with “meep, meep.” According to animation historian Michael Barrier, Julian’s preferred spelling of the sound effect was either “hmeep hmeep” or “mweep, mweep”. And remember in the earliest cartoons, the roadrunner flipped out his tongue twice with a fluttery sound before “Beep Beep” or whatever. I think that came back with some of the late Freleng cartoons.

    Leapin’ lizards! That’s it?!!!? This arc isn’t even near the day the strip began: Aug 5, 1924! What a waste of time! This is getting almost as bad as Alley Oop is now!
