I beg to differ. If ‘normal’ refers to the norm, which covers ‘most’ cases of a subject matter. Apparently trans people are around 0.3 to 0.4% of the general population in western countries. But, while it’s not ‘normal’ to be trans, it sure is OKAY !

Respectfully, I think capitalism WAS probably a good economic system (well, if you don’t look too much at the manner and the consequences), but it has now become problematic, as it encourages the destruction of our planet. For now, it is unreformable.

I’m French, and we’re used to violent politics, but the words used here are going very far… MAGATs ? I’m sorry, I don’t get these dehumanizing labels. From the Far-Right, okay, this is their stuff. But from other parties… Why ? They’re just humans, only too humans.
I’m baffled at the level of hatred from both sides in your country. Very worried about our american friends…

@cherns Yes, spot on, but I think that insulting nearly half of the electorate, while cathartic, may not be the best course of action civically and… politcally.
Former French president Hollande lost a lot of his social (and electoral) credit when it was reported (by his ex) that he talked jokingly about the “toothless” poor.
Similarly, as an outside observer of US politics, I tend to think that the comment about the “deplorables” made by Clinton was one major turning point in American politics, because, expertly used by the Trump campaign, it just galvanised the base, and brought huge new crowds to the campaign. People who felt insulted, who resented the fact the the Dems were mocking people “like them”.Am I wrong ?

A question from a French observer : surely, the 73 millions people who cast their votes for Trump can’t be ALL like that guy. Isn’t there other types of Trump voters ? I’m asking, because It baffles me how polarized and intolerant and unfraternal the American debate seems to have become. I’m sure there is room for a little nuance, isn’t it ?If not in cartoons -as a reader of Charlie Hebdo, I’d get it) but maybe here in the Comments section ?
Thank you for your answers…

Quite agree. All over the world, progressive parties are ruined by infighting, petty quarrels and the urge to destroy their own leadership…All in the name of “Virtue”.

To the world, the US would be a heavy-armed, insanely rich self-destructive loved one.

Dude. Sarcasm.
@Kivi I think your intel is wrong. Well, you’re right about Hamas, but you seem to assume that the +30K Palestinian people killed by Tsahal somehow deserved it. It’s just wrong. Tsahal isn’t even trying to minimize collateral damage. Its soldiers are killing women and children en masse, destroying cities and condemning the survivors to live in abominable fear of death and starvation. I think that the standing of Israel will be altered for decades to come.
