    Sad, but true for many.

Yes, when she is alone she likes to watch the news. Oddly enough her other choice is old detective shows, Columbo, et c. I wonder sometimes if there just as bad? Good luck with your Dad. I know it is tough, but you sound like you are doing a fantastic job :)

I don’t blame her, but I do find it odd. Sadly I am her sole caregiver now, and I try to focus on the positive whenever I can. She only became a citizen…. I believe 20 or so years ago? And many of her political beliefs are fomenting in Europe too

Ha ha! Thank you for breaking it down so nicely. And please double my thanks for taking my comment as it was intended! :D

You would think so, but I would not suggest bringing that up to English nerds!

Your comment brought to mind a question I’ve been pondering the last few years. My Mum has dementia too. Right before she started exhibiting signs/was diagnosed she went down a GOP conspiracy wormhole. It was extra confusing as a local man, Carlos, from Mexico helps her out around her house. He is super nice and gives her discounts and occasionally does not even charge her at all. Many a time I would go over there and he would be sitting on her sofa eating a snack as they chatted. And yet, she believed all the crap about Mexicans hopping the fence to r@pe us, et c?!?

My question is, has anyone ever found any correlation between dementia and extremism? She is under a doctor’s care now, and mostly left her extremism behind, however she will occasionally fall down a faux news wormhole. It can be so discouraging.

So sad, yet many people think this way.

Reusable bags are used in many places to give Mother Nature a rest from plastic one time use bags, many of which end up in the garbage.

I believe a certain puppy chewed up a reusable bag and it will now need to be replaced. After ending up in the garbage.

This season has been hard on all of us. May it have a happy (Joyful even!) ending.

Thankfully there is a rise in popularity in natural burials. There is one 1.5 hours from me I hope to check out soon. It looks beautiful online, just a park with trails through the woods. You can use a plain box (why spend $$$ on a pricey one?) or a shroud made from natural fibers. If you choose a headstone you just need to use a rock that is local to the area.

Pricewise it is much more economical, but what I love is that my body will “go back to nature” which seems so much more comforting than being preserved with embalming fluid with a large concrete slab over my expensive coffin to reduce my leakage into the local plant life. But maybe that’s just me?!
