I am not absolving Tom of his behavior towards Tiffany, and Tom may have never appeared as a caring parent, but we don’t know his background as to why he is this way. Tom also could have been deeply shocked when Tiffany’s mom left, and ceased to care about things. Also, lawyers are supposed to stifle their emotions and maybe Tom took that too far by extending it out of work and into family. Some men are far more in love with their jobs than their family. There is so much that has not been revealed, and we don’t know what conversations went on away from the strip. Tom has NOT been, in a lot of our opinions, a caring father, maybe he did not know how to care. Love of a child and love of an adult are different. Tom apparently became even more blind after Ann came along, and somewhat selfish in taking care of his own needs and neglecting his daughter even more. All that being said, and if you still follow my train of thought, I reserve judgement on Tom until I hear more backstory. He really could have had an epiphany and realized how he neglected his daughter. As for Ann, she may be in for a really rude awakening when Tiffany discusses in detail all the crap Ann pulled with Tiffany’s friends. After all, Tom is a lawyer, and may finally put Ann where she belongs, out of this strip. I have hopes father and daughter will begin to know each other again, this time on a very different level. Only time will tell.
um, yeah. We already know Ann’s has a copy, but if there are no other copies and Tom has and destroys the original because he doesn’t believe Tiffany, poof proof gone. Well, unless the hospital Les was born at has a copy, but that would be too practical a solution for this arc that has gone on more than long enough.
Let’s not forget the possibility of Tom not giving the ultrasound back to Tiffany. (If she was smart, hopefully she made a copy of the original) Will Tom believe his daughter and not just think she is trying to cause trouble? One way to find out is for Tom to take Ann in for an (another?) ultrasound.
Tiffany, you can throw the rest of Ann’s crap out the window now.
