That’s Dawn’s reaction to Candace’s brother acting like a jerk. “She” throughout the strip is referring to Candace. If he had said that to Dawn, it would say Dawn.

I had a cat, Snickers, who lived to be 19. When my daughter was little, any time she’d cry, Snickers would run over to her and comfort her. I never knew any other cat who loved a small child like she did.

We’re six days away from Christmas, not a week.

I got married young. Had my whole life planned out—when I was going to have kids etc. Then I got divorced young. I took some time to learn about myself, and when I met someone I thought I wanted to marry, I took it slow. We were married 6 years before we had kids. I’m glad I wasn’t such a young mother as I would have been had I stuck to my original plan. My daughter graduates from UF today, and my husband and I have been married 27 years. We still go out dancing almost every Saturday night.

One day another teacher came in to my algebra class to tell our teacher (who was very soft-spoken) that something had to be done that day. My teacher obviously was unprepared for whatever that was, and replied, “shhhhhhhhhh…sugar!” It was kind of nice to see that teachers were human too.
