You forgot about the 1994 Northridge quake. Several deaths from that one. We lived a mile from the epicenter and it was terrifying. My husband’s a native Californian (that’s rare!) and he has experienced 4 quakes. We were in the Owens Valley during the Ridgecrest quake. All in all, I’d rather have an earthquake than a tornado or hurricane. The only other thing about California is the fires. Of which there are many, and regularly. But every state has its drawbacks. I"m sorry to see LA, San Diego and SF homelessness problem and the filth in the streets. What was once an amazing state, well-run with good infrastructure, has become a shadow of its former self. Im a San Diegan, btw. The roads there are abysmal. Have had to replace my bike tires several times. We moved to Florida.
