   I am going on the assumption that people know what they are talking about when they say she had a stroke. Also when you are in the ER, in the US at least, they want a responsible adult with you if possible. Usually ER means some medications and someone who is sober needs to make decisions for you. One sub adult caring for five children in a waiting room for several hours? Let’s just say, not optimal. Can be done. Might even be done well. But not the best plan. His getting someone else to care for them, a much better plan.

    Because only two family members are allowed in the ER area (as opposed to the waiting area) at a time. So he would have to leave five of them in the waiting room and keep running back out there to make sure they were ok.
