I have never understood why a select few refer to former Pres. Trump as Hitler. Plse explain the connection; it wasn’t anything that he did as President that I saw. PS: I voted for him as the only alternative to Hillary, not out of admiration for him.

We just discovered the Jimmy Dean line, and then found a good breakfast burrito at Costco. Breakfast is the only meal that we don’t split if doing fast food. Made a trip to Calif. in June, we’ll be eating cold sandwiches from an ice chest or microwaving in our motorhome; a simple burger is over $15 thanks to the high wages. I guess it i\was necessary since fast food workers there are mostly career staff, here in AZ they are kids (HS or college) or retirees picking up some extra income

The local jail holds all level of criminals until they have been tried and sentenced and transferred to a prison. The Jeffery Dalmer types as well as the drunks, but not in the same facilities (bad guys are in single cells, common criminals may be in more dormitory type housing.

Yet people stay rather than leave for what might be a better opportunity. Doesn’t sound like it could get any worse.

Cross from AZ in CA and go into a store. Everything there is locked up, even nail clippers. I had to get a clerk to unlock the case so I could purchase clippers, under $5! CA politicians encouraged voters to decriminalize shoplifting of $9XX or less each incident. I was required to show ID to buy non-alcoholic beer in CA; I’m 78, my 51 yo son was with me but I’ll admit I don’t look a day over 21.

California. We visited San Jose in June, wished we brought a drum of AZ gas with us since it is about a dollar per gallon less, then prices adjusted for the vote; dropped to $2.91 in AZ but was back to $3.15 by 5 PM on election day, yesterday is was $3.33. I worked in a Chevron station in the summer of 1964; we usually started at $0.19 but might go down to $0.14 to beat the station on the other corner of the intersection. I made $0.85/hour to wash windshields, check oil, put new tires on a car, clean the restrooms, etc. Low man on totem pole (18 yo) but also got to pump gas, make change; not everyone only wanted a $1, just the guys who knew there would be trouble if they ran out of gas on Saturday night.

Some things haven’t changed; I was always amazed at a Brit showing up in a 3 piece suit, no belt, tie pulled down and collar button undone, shoes looked like they just waded through a mud puddle or barnyard. The Swedish group were perfect to a tee, including shined shoes. This was in Riyadh, S.A.

My favorite reality show was a segment of “preperrs” or some such. A guy and his young son were out in the desert shooting, TX as I recall. The pistol jammed, the guy cleared it and then pulled the trigger, but his thumb was over the muzzle so he shot off a chunk of his thumb. The set medic moved in, the sound guy laid down the mike boom and assisted based on his experience as a combat vet, the producer drove out to the road to lead emergency response vehicles into the site, but the cameraman kept rolling and they later played it on the air. It showed just how unrealistic the show was.

PS: they did a follow-up including showing where a chunk of thumb was missing once it was healed. Very educational but not very entertaining. They did another one where a chubby 20-something girl loaded up her 60 lb backpack and attempted to walk out of a big city, wearing short shorts. A passerby commented on the likelihood of her being assaulted and /or robbed in a SHTF scenario.
