Me, too, but I realized 40 years ago that the Postal Service issues lots of stamps every year and encourages collecting because every time an unused stamp goes into a collection, USPS gets the money without having to provide the service. I only collect the older stuff.

Be sure to get a rotary phone, it will confuse the heck out of the youngsters.

This reminds me—many years ago I asked AT&T why I was getting a bill for $42 every three months. Turned out it was the lease payment for my wall phone. They immediately offered to reduce it to $5 per month. When I asked where I could return the phone, they said to just trash it. AND YET—my friend’s 96 year old mom still leases her phone because “if it ever breaks they will replace it for free.” Sigh.

One advantage of being a pessimist is when I get a surprise, it’s usually something good.

I still have a Doritos bag with Mike Myers on the front, created for an Austin Powers movie release. There was to be a “name the flavor” contest for the chips, which were titled “incognito flavor” for the moment. It never got off the ground.

Nah, she’s totally toxic just to be around. Touching her would probably melt body parts off of you.

Seriously, I’ve seen desert centipedes that were a foot long. They are NOT venomous, but those mandibles are nasty. I have also found millipedes that were five inches long. Totally harmless, and they feel like a toothbrush going for a walk on you.
