Interesting thought but nothing to do with the sport of boxing :-) Boxing Day, in Great Britain and some Commonwealth countries, such as Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, (December 26) is the day on which servants, tradespeople, and the poor traditionally were presented with gifts. It has now mainly a day associated with shopping (Boxing Day Sales were around long before Black Friday) and sporting events.
In Australia putting “black” prior to any day has usually signified a day to a great disaster – generally catastrophic bushfires that caused great loss of lives and property. I notice on Google that in the US it generally indicates a day of a major stock market crash dating back to 1929 at the start of the great depression, but the term since signifying other days of major stock market downturns. It seems a strange choice of name for a retail sale which now seems to commence a week or more prior to Friday and to continue into December.
“Toxic” Jaythor hates everyone and everything apparently. Definitely doesn’t like females, pets or children and apparently has no sense of humour. Not sure why they even reads a comic that they dislike so much.
Icterine /ˈɪktəriːn/ is a colour, described as yellowish, jaundice-yellow or marked with yellow. It is derived from Ancient Greek ikteros (jaundice), via the Latin ictericus. It is used as an adjective in the names of birds with yellowish plumage to describe their appearance, including the icterine warbler and icterine greenbul.
