Old fart, female variety. I've had cats since I was six except for a couple of several-year stretches when I was catless, but busy having babies and raising them. I started having cats again when a stray Cleo wandered into our yard, and we kept him. I think children should be trained by a cat when they're young and impressionable, and my oldest daughter is another cat-fanatic and we share our personal Cat News almost every day.

Oh My Cat! I forgot I also wore hoops underneath prom dresses! The “look” in the fifties was tight-waisted, full-skirted, mid-calf dresses. AND, you wore a dress to school. would have been sent home, I’m sure for wearing pants. No one would have even dared. Yes, we were a conformist bunch, weren’t we? Rebellion didn’t come in until the early sixties.

Not to mention a major pain to wear – with a Corset under it required for the proper “look”! I actually used to wear a corset-like garment underneath prom dresses in the early 50’s, in fact all through high school proms. I also took, and wore, not a corset, at least, but tight-bodices cotton dresses to Hawaii on my honeymoon. Yes, I was uncomfortable, but quite young, at the time, so fashion was more important than comfort. I’ve since wised up.

I can’t remember which comic that was in my paper and got replaced by a Really Stupid One, but I miss it. There are now only two I never read and really do not like, as opposed to Not My Favorite, but at least mildly amusing.

I’m so glad that the kittens will stay kittens in the strip. In real life, though, I’m glad they grow up, because, as Baba Mouse says, Kittens are Exhausting!

I lived with a long-haired Siamese cat for 17 years, and, of course Elvis meant to do it! Dignity, always dignity! I believe that’s the line from "Singin’ in the Rain.

Yup! I miss Sky, a long-haired Siamese with whom I had regular conversations, mostly about food, to be honest. He lived to age 17, but it’s never long enough, is it?
