   Never understood the need for some to give in to the “princess” role for their daughters. Sure, you can treasure their femininity, but why encourage her to want to be someone who dresses in expensive clothes, doesn’t do a day’s work, and relies on others for her comforts and needs?

   “ It is my belief that the only real problem women have in the military is having to serve with men.” This! Given the reports of sexual harassment and assault that are covered up/dismissed by military officials, who would want to serve under or alongside most men?

   We have decent tap water, but prefer getting drinking water from our Brita. If I’m going to be on the road when it’s hot I try to remember to fill a water bottle at home, but sometimes I get thirsty enough to get one at a store. At least we have a deposit on those plastic bottles in Oregon, but the flip side is some folks use their EBT card to buy large flats of water, empty them on the side of the road, then take to bottles to get cash. I wouldn’t begrudge them using the cash for essentials, but I doubt that’s what they are doing, and it doesn’t excuse wasting water and littering with the caps.

   So in the States we celebrate such holidays by discounting bed linens. Do folks up there observe Victoria Day by purchasing materials to cover up their piano legs?

    My cat looks annoyed and will leave the room if I whistle. Sensitive ears? Angry at false advertising?
