It isn’t “males being men” that is the problem, it’s men who believe that they should be allowed to dominate anyone they perceive as being “inferior” to them.
And it shows! Reading nonfiction can increase your knowledge, though you need to vet the sources. That’s a challenge for some.Reading fiction can allow you to see the viewpoint of someone who may be of another religion, nationality, economic background, or gender than you. Some people don’t see the point of that, or it makes them uncomfortable. Is it any wonder there’s a plague of narrow-mindedness in the U.S.?
When businesses no longer have to be TOLD they can’t dump poisons in our water and the air we breathe, endanger their employees and treat them unfairly, or create harmful/lethal products THEN maybe we can have a smaller government. I don’t see such a world in our future, though, because selfish humans with more money than they could ever use have no incentive to change.
