   Yes, remote workers are being directed to return to the office by the federal government (policy) and by private companies (trend). On a different topic, the feds are rehiring essential workers because firing them was a stupid, knee-jerk decision.

   Examples I have seen in the news: The USDA is rehiring people who had been working on the government’s response to the H5N1 avian flu outbreak. The Trump administration is also rehiring federal employees who were overseeing the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile.
