Just want to say that every single word you might use in whatever language you might speak was once a “made up” word! :)

[twirls villainous mustachios] Maybe I meant to set them off.

Paprika came with that name from the animal shelter. She’s not even orange, so I don’t know why. We never changed her name, but she wound up mostly being called Peppy.

We adopted Nikki at the same time, and she came with the name ‘Nyx’ which I didn’t like at all. We changed her name to NightFury (because she’s ‘Toothless’), and the call name Nikki was close enough to her former name that she accepted it readily.

In the Shelter Report, you’d think they would both be the special needs cats, but Peppy is the kitty who’s good at catching string, and Nikki is the old cat who sure misses Joe.

My BladeRunner was from a feral colony and was feral in my home for maybe a decade, though he’s mellowed considerably in his old age. He was named for his two most outstanding traits in his first year when his colony was shut down. His sharp blades, which he drew blood on both me and the woman trying to home him with me, as we got him into a carrier. And his run-and-hide complete wussiness. And the movie of course.

Cami is short for Camouflage. She’s a pastel tortie, with a lot of pink and orange, which you’d think would stand out a mile, but she’s the exact color of the woodpile where she lived till a few weeks ago. (I’ve recently brought her inside in preparation for our impending move.) She came to us as a barn cat, with another cat we named Heidi, because she would hide behind Cami in the barn where we started them. Heidi disappeared shortly after being given freedom. Cami is still with me years later. She was never feral, but she was definitely an outdoor cat.

[I’ll just >squinty eyes< myself for suspicious writing, and trust Georgia knows I’m truly only kidding, perhaps rudely.]

I don’t know. If Georgia was as good as we all think, wouldn’t she draw us Robber Mice toebeans?
