Luann needs to ask Jack to help her train Puddles. Orrrrr, better yet, Lu needs to enroll Puddles in a training class, where she will meet her beloved, which will take a couple of years, and then they’ll get married, which will take a few more years, and by then Puddles will be 110 years old and won’t remember anything he was taught years earlier.

You think? I’m not so sure about that. As a reader, I hate that Gunther is portrayed as such a doormat and Bets is portrayed as a real bee-otch. If you look at current romcoms or sitcoms, why is the man is always portrayed as a real doofus, with the woman being the only brains in the room? (Now, I’m a woman, so don’t get your knickers in a twist that I’m being sexist.) I see two “equal partnerships” in this series – Frank and Nancy, and Brad and Toni. Except for those couples, everybody else is pretty flawed (as we all are, I suppose), but with the men usually being shown as having something wrong with them. Les, Ox, Nil, Gunther all are pretty fatally flawed. The women, really aren’t much better. They’ve not grown since high school, emotionally, into any sort of maturity. Luann, Bernice, both airheads. Bets, controlling and not very likable. I rather liked Dez, but they got rid of her pretty quickly. I really liked Rosa. I could even get to like Tara. But these two? I’m over it. Okay, now I’m just rambling.

Oh, heaven’s no. I read books a lot longer than 200 pages. But I’m ready for a different arc of this comic. I’m a sucker for a happy ending, but this? All I see is disaster ahead for this couple. But, I could be wrong. I’ve been wrong before.

Wonderful. Can we move on to another arc now, please? While I think this relationship will end in disaster, it might not. Readers have been clamoring for romance, so maybe we’ll actually see some growth in these two characters. Bets may learn to deal with her insecurities. Gunther might actually grow a spine and lay down some ground rules. Unicorns might fly past my house. Hey, it could happen.

Ooooh, I love the “bunny boiler” reference.

I’m not sure “excited” is the right word.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. Can’t she leave her private life private for one single minute?

I’ll be dead by then.
I’ve missed you both. I tend to scan other posts looking for yours.
