as an example, i am absolutely certain that mormons believe their garments are part of a covenant they made with god when they received a temple endowment. i am absolutely certain they do not believe those garments will stop a bullet. i am absolutely certain the padres beat the astros 4-0 today.
i completely disagree with your disparaging comment. i think it implies confidence in a provable fact. it’s easy to “absolute(ly) certain” about many things, because they are true.
seatbelts keep you in the seat, but the seat my smash into the dashboard. air bags keep you from hitting the dash, but you might get ejected from the car. and brakes? so you can get out of the car when you’re done driving, and the car is where you want it to be for next time.
not even close to true. after round 1, the person with the fewest 1’s is eliminated. the people that voted for the eliminated person, we look at there 2nd choice as if it was a 1, then recount. the person with the fewest 1’s is eliminated. continue until one candidate has over 50%. no averages are ever used. in the above example, the vote for stein becomes a vote for johnson becomes a vote for trump.
