One of the virtues of the AG series is that they don’t whitewash the history. The books are at a level appropriate for children, and they skip over the worst details, but Addy, for example, lives with the repercussions of slavery—her parents, and virtually every adult she knows, survived being enslaved.
There are also various (nonfiction) books, telling more about life during the historical period, and the actual history. I have several Felicity ones, since that’s the time I’m most interested in.
I thought Felicity was the first. I have a “look like you” AG doll. Her name is Madeleine, she’s a contemporary of Felicity, and she was a gift for my 40th birthday!
I agree with Robin . . . but what has Kit been up to lately? Are any of his shenanigans threatening Snowball Taggart’s fish oil empire? In that case, I wouldn’t put it past Snowball to hire someone to mess Kit up!
But what’s up with my role model Princess, and her dashing True Love Captain Nimble!? And how will Rowdy, Rascal, Rogue, and Sweetheart do on their first day of Kittengarten?
And to check all the pies and chocolate-chip cookies to make sure they are really what they pretend to be!
