Hello Anne, I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. I don’t want to be alarmist, but is the vet sure it isn’t Feline Infectious Peritonitis? I lost my 12-year-old cat to FIP not long ago, and the circumstances sound similar — drastic weight loss, only able to get down a mouthful or two of food, nothing showing up on the scans. Apparently it’s very tricky to diagnose. I very much hope that isn’t your kitty’s trouble. Best wishes.
