Since Olivia Jaimes took over Nancy, I don’t find any humor in it at all. I still read it for old times’ sake because I have been reading Nancy since Ernie Bushmiller wrote it. Nancy was always a happy girl, and I don’t like the way she is written now.
This strip has become really awful. I have been reading Nancy for over 55 years, and I am very disappointed with her character now. She was a sweet girl and is now completely egotistical. I think she could remain a nice character even in today’s world.
I love the new look of Nancy. It might be drawn a little sparse than before, but I think Olivia draws Nancy herself more like Ernie Bushmiller did – a little chubby. Guy’s Nancy was slimmer, but IMO, she is meant to be chubby. I am just happy to be reading Nancy every day!
I am in my 60s and have been reading Nancy as far back as I remember, back when Ernie Bushmiller used to draw Nancy. I am just glad to read her, regardless of who draws the strip. For what it’s worth, I do prefer Olivia’s style to Guy’s.
