I really think the answer is Calvin has a split personality. Explaining how Hobbes can do things that Calvin isn’t aware of. It might also explain his sociopathic behavior.
Yes you can tell because it’s generally peaceful unlike the current presidents followers. They would have the house and neighborhood burned down by now and looting what is left. Then the local prosecutors would investigate anyone that was trying to defend themselves.
