Let’s not forget how he handled COVID (“it will be gone by April “) and this time there is no Fauci with 40 years experience. Of course it will be his and Biden’s fault.

This is what is now happening in KY and has the signs of mass spreading.

    From Lexington Herald:

Open the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention respiratory virus tracker, and you’ll notice Kentucky is highlighted in a feverish red as illnesses like COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) surge across the state. But according to Dr. Nicholas Van Sickels, an infectious disease specialist with UK HealthCare, this winter is different.

That’s because a highly contagious stomach bug, known as norovirus, is also in the mix making this season even worse. Norovirus spreads easily on contaminated surfaces, like your iPhone, and it’s resistant to typical alcohol-based hand sanitizers, according to the CDC. What’s worse, there’s no real treatment for norovirus beyond getting plenty of rest and constant fluids infused with electrolytes. The virus typically only lasts one to three days, but they are miserable ones, according to Van Sickels.

    You’re correct.

In order of first to fourth, when I looked for temps with wind chills it was Reagan (2nd term), JFK, Obama and Carter.

Reagan’s inside move was justifiable. Air was 7 degrees with wind chills from-10 to -20.

    Clarification:

Air temps were in the teens to low 20s but wind chills were in the single digits.

Today (1/19) where we live we are having the Alberta Clipper arriving. Temps will be +/- zero with wind chills from -5 to -12 for at least two days.

Or perhaps the FOCer wants an excuse for having the smallest inaugural crowd in US history.

Favorite on-the-street interviews were with the idiot MAGAts who bemoaned the fact that they drove “all the way” from Texas and Okielahoma and their tickets were deemed now to be “commemborative” . The Fat Boy pulls another scam on the GULLibles.

I don’t recall it being too cold for Carter and Obama who took the oath in single degree temps and then I remember that Jimmy and Rosalyn walked the boulevard that day.

Who would have thought that tough guys like demented Fat Orange Clowns (the FOCers) are such sensitive wusses? Maybe the cold makes the bone spurs excruciating painful.

One word does not immediately come to mind but it’s a combination of tolerance, giving, helping, sharing and improving.

Don’t be. It’s just Karma getting revved up to put the world back in balance.

The MAGAts and the 10M who voted for Joe B. but stayed away last November are about to be part of the demented Fat Orange Clown’s unintentional part of his retribution promise. It will happen, albeit unknowingly to all affected, but the timing is conjecture.

A large number will suffer ranging from premature death to severe economic loss. It’s how the universe cleans house but unfortunately there will be collateral damage. Think German population in early 1945 to get an understanding.

All I can think of every day since that fatal day last November is how to anticipate and defend so I can continue onward to a natural end. The greasy red hat crowd from the church of the T***p Devotion Syndrome will call for increasingly larger and meaningless sacrifices at the altar of their bronzed Buddha-like JEEEZZZUS who they believe was chosen by God to deliver them. They just don’t realize that they will be delivered to a hell on earth,

Wonder if the avian flu will be the catalyst or if it will be some other contagion that will be “gone in a few months”. Duck and cover you fair-minded libs. ( OK, maybe I should not have avian flu and duck in close proximity.)

(And to highlight how great the MAGAts will make the country, there’s the special effort that will be made for fertile women)

And MAGA Republicans have proposed a bill to impose a national abortion ban, along with a bill urging Congress to support a consortium of antiabortion doctors for women because, the bill says, “health care should emphasize the whole woman, including her physical, mental, and spiritual wellness,” and “health care for women should also address the needs of men, families, and communities.”

    (Continue)

Over the New York Post’s map of the “Donroe Doctrine” in which Canada is labeled “51st state,” Greenland is labeled “our land,” the Gulf of Mexico is labeled “Gulf of America,” and the Panama Canal is labeled “Pana-Maga Canal,” the Republican majority on the House Foreign Affairs Committee posted today: “Our country was built by warriors and explorers. We tamed the West, won two World Wars, and were the first to plant our flag on the moon. President Trump has the biggest dreams for America and it’s un-American to be afraid of big dreams.” Journalist Jamie Dupree screenshotted the tweet before the committee deleted it.Behind all the offense, though, things that matter deeply to the American people are going largely unnoticed.

MAGA representatives have been introducing a slew of measures to the new Congress, many of which incorporate the plans of Project 2025 into legislation. They call for turning over immigration to the states, privatizing veterans’ healthcare, and repealing the 1993 National Voting Rights Act, the 2010 Affordable Care Act, and the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.

Bills call for withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization; increasing oil and gas production on federal lands; abolishing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); allowing states to spend federal education money on private school vouchers; and removing the protection of transgender rights from schools.

Other measures would revoke security clearances for “certain former members of the intelligence community,” introduce a constitutional amendment to cap the Supreme Court at nine justices, and cut off federal funding to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (the office that successfully charged Trump with election interference) and the Fulton County (GA) District Attorney’s Office (the office that has charged Trump with criminal conspiracy).

    TO THE ECONOMIC BARRICADES

I have realized that I have to go on the economic defensive if I want my last decade to have a semblance of the comfort and well being that we have reached barring any natural disasters that hit. We know that President Musk will do nothing for any commoner including the MAGAts.

It’s going to be a steadily worsening stream of economic setbacks in many ways over the next four years. The demented Fat Orange Clown (aka The FOCer) will have to generate a lot more distractions than he has in the past to cause the knucklewalkers to blame anyone and everyone else for why their lives will be doing a swirly after Joe and Kamala left the nation with the strongest economy in decades.

HCR reminds us of what has happened and what will happen.

Julia Ainsley and Carol E. Lee of NBC News today reported another way in which Trump is threatening to go on offense: by conducting a very visible raid targeting undocumented immigrants in the Washington, D.C., area as soon as he takes office. While Presidents Barack Obama and Biden have targeted employers who violate labor laws, Trump wants to demonstrate “shock and awe” by raiding workplaces and sweeping up migrants who are in the U.S. without documentation, regardless of their criminal status. His transition team has been talking with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials about the logistics of such raids.

And then, of course, there are Trump’s frequent references to taking over other countries. Don Jr. traveled to Greenland this week with right-wing activist and media personality Charlie Kirk, ostensibly to record a podcast, but Trump Sr. followed the trip with posts saying “MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!” That idea is getting traction among MAGA leaders, even though—or perhaps because—it is a direct affront to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), to which both the U.S. and Denmark belong.
