Came here for Breaking Cat News, but have found some other great comics—sweet ones like Snow Sez, Cul de Sac, Cat's Cafe and Ten Cats and ones a "little off center" like Last Kiss, Lio and Spirit of the Staircase. Was COVID-laid off in March 2020 and now "enjoying" retirement.

I don’t remember making them in school, but got the loom and loops for Christmas. My loom was red enameled metal (did they come in any other colors?).

I missed Lady Bri’s posts, but looking at her profile and the comments she made that are still there, it seems hubby has had surgery on both wrists (carpal tunnel?). Hope he recovers well and fast!

I’ve loved Jumble since I was a kid and it was in our newspaper. I discovered online USA Games Today during the pandemic and play a variety of their games (they’re free). I love the timer on the online version and try to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible—it’s a red letter day when I do it in less than a minute!

I agree that using tacks, or nails that poke holes in the tapestry would damage it. Because your tapestry doesn’t have a rod pocket and you don’t think you can sew one on yourself, nor know anyone who can, quilt hangers may be the way to go. Some internet sleuthing should help you find an affordable solution that looks good to you and fits your decor style. Here are some results of my quick looking around:

    1) I saw small quilt hangers on the Connecting Threads website—these are two piece woodblocks that have a wooden ball set in between the two blocks; you push the edge of your quilt up into the space between and the ball “clamps” onto the quilt. These hangers run less than $6. A queen/king quilt takes 4–6 hangers. These hangers could be mounted at interval on a longer board that you hang on the wall as one piece.

    2) I saw this 36" FUIN Wooden Quilt Hanger on Am*zon; two (to hold 72") would run you $80.

    3) You could also look at curtain clips—the clips hang from rings, or hooks; the rings/hooks could be threaded onto a heavy rod, or dowel that you then hang onto your wall.

So happy for Lucky! He’s got the best cat parents ever—you had him on several waiting lists for the radiation treatment and didn’t hesitate to jump on the last-minute cancellation. How wonderful that he did so well after the procedure and was chill about being separated from home and family. Glad Lucky will be sitting in his seat at your Thanksgiving table!
