   I have retired to Mexico and survive on SS, so I’ve been following this end-of-the-year fiscal brou-ha-ha with great interest. The House finally passed the spending measure this evening at the very last minute (natch!) and sent it to the Senate, which also approved it. President Biden has just signed it! In any event, I have read that even if all of this hadn’t happened and some government functions would be shut down, that isn’t the case for our SS checks/direct deposits. They continue no matter what is going on in Washington.
