    Ah, Daniel Drew’s motto about short-selling: “He who sells what isn’t his’n, must buy it back or go to pris’n.” At least, that was the case 140 years ago, when he died, bankrupt and penniless, at 82 (pretty old for that era!).

    Incidentally, “Happy Birthday” has been recognized as public domain in 2016, retroactively (Warner/Chappell paid several millions in restitution to people it had demanded fees from).

    Yes, underground trains (AKA “subway”) move fast within a city because they never get snagged in traffic — they’re faster than cars in sufficiently-heavy traffic.
