So Charlie Brown is 8 or so. I looked it up to be sure. There a strip in 1979 where he says he says he’s 8 and 1/2. Sally is his younger sister. The ruler was owned by a third grader. Either Sally the genius is a few grades ahead or Sparky wasn’t too dialed in on this arc. Or the third grader is invading Sally’s classroom in a desperate attempt to get his ruler back. Regardless the whole arc is funny!
When we were coming along (there were five of us kids) mom would leave us in the station wagon with the windows down. We liked to sit in the windows and play drums on the roof of the car. I hated wandering around the grocery store. If it was warm she’d park in the shade. We’d also read and talk. Amazing how different life was with no smart phones to bury our heads in.
Goat was a slang term for someone who fouled up big time and cost their team a win. It was used commonly in sports. I thought it was strange when goat become an acronym for greatest of all time.
