nah i liked the inclusion of the filler strips. they kind of made the reveal more impactful. like, all the samey gags of nates friends ragging on him and commenting on the couple are recontextualized, which i think is a pretty cool kicker rather than just having the doppelganger situation be the premise of the arc.
either that or it helps emphasize the ridiculousness of the whole thing more. like it looks like a regular arc at first but universal forces come into play and radically alter the situation because it is just that crazy for nate to have a humble and healthy relationship with a girl, or something like that idk.
(sorry for not writing these in a while lol, just kinda got bored)
Anyway, this is actually surprisingly fresh for the comic. Nate’s mooching habits have been brought up before, but not in a sort of way where he has a sort of skill for it similar to prank day or chess. In an age where unoriginality abounds this is really cool to see, so i’ll give it an A for what it’s setting up, which seems like a high score but it’s just such a breath of fresh air tbh.
This strip exists. B-.okay I guess there’s more to it than that, but the gist is that it’s kind of a dull anticlimax, seeming almost contrived. oh well, I guess artur is fine here.
i swear, if they get in a fight over this …
