I like to keep a little cash on me, just in case. But I can’t remember the last time I went to an ATM. I usually just get some cash back when I’m shopping, there’s never a charge for the withdrawal like there is at so many ATM’s

Probably the purple bhut jalokia. They are originally from India where bhut means ghost and that’s what they’re called in the US: ghost peppers. Ghost peppers reigned as the hottest peppers in the world until 2011. I’ve heard of people tearing their esophagus they vomit so violently after trying to eat them!

Alamogordo, which you probably remember is right next to White Sands and the White Sands missile range/Holloman Air Force base.

It’s been really smoky in the Tularosa basin recently bc Ruidoso is battling a terrible fire. It started on the Mescalero Apache reservation and quickly burned into Ruidoso. A very fast moving and destructive fire It’s burned over 25k acres and over 1400 structures, 500 of them homes. The entire town was evacuated all weekend with around 8k people coming into Alamogordo and Roswell. It rained quite a bit yesterday which caused flooding but helped slow the fire

We’ve had record breaking heat here in Southern New Mexico too but finally got some much needed rain over the weekend (I had been putting off washing my filthy truck for months, should’ve known I just needed to give it a good polish to get some rain lol)

1 of the tourist towns (Ruidoso) in the mountain range next to us went up in flames in 1 of the most destructive fires the area has ever seen, it was burning out of control and zero percent contained when the rain provided some relief (flooding too tho unfortunately)

Seems a foolish decision to spray pepper spray in your living room even if it’s not directly pointed at ones face

I’m beginning to understand why Charlie Brown is Shlabotnik’s #1 fan!

Here in Southern New Mexico people burned their trash into the nineties in rural areas. Now, if you don’t have trash pickup (only the people who live in town do really) you have to take it to the landfill yourself but they don’t want you burning it

I’ve lived amongst the farmers and fields the majority of my life and had to occasionally deal with a rattlesnake here in Southern New Mexico, tho more often it’s just a bull snake. I didn’t think we’d have to worry about snakes anymore after we moved into town a few years ago but we’ve had 3-6 rattlesnakes in the yard each year we’ve been here! I expect it’s bc of the golf course right next to us
